Kate is a therapeutic horticulture researcher, consultant and program developer who explores the benefits of time spent gardening and in greenspaces on recovery, wellbeing and belonging. She has a particular interest in how gardening and greenspaces can challenge the dominant narratives and assumptions regarding vulnerable or priority populations. With a commitment to dismantling deficiency-based labels that often continue to stigmatise participants, her work champions opportunities to promote the valuable and meaningful contributions people can make in their own lives, their communities and in society more broadly.  Her work is co-designed, methodologically ethical, person-focused, strengths-based, trauma-informed, inclusive and rights-focused.
